Clive Mason

Clive Mason joined ARCH as an ESG advisor in 2018. Clive has over 30 years working experience as an Environmental and Social Risk Management Adviser with roles at International Finance Corporation as well as running a number of organizations in the environmental industry, which involved cleaner production and environmental technology transfer. Clive is familiar with the various E&S standards of the IFIs and has developed and delivered numerous workshops on E&S management to banks and private equity funds.

Clive advises across all of our strategies.

Cynthia Carroll

Cynthia Carroll joined ARCH as a senior advisor in 2021. Cynthia is the only woman (at writing) to have held a CEO position of a major mining company, having held the position at Anglo American plc. Cynthia has also held various executive roles at the company including President of Bauxite, Alumina and Specialty Chemicals and Chief Executive Officer of the Primary Metal Group, Alcan’s core business. Cynthia sits on a number of boards and is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineers and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Cynthia is a senior advisor for the Sustainable Resources strategy.

Paul Atherley

Paul Atherley joined ARCH as a senior advisor in 2020. Paul has 30 years’ worth of experience in financing, developing and operating a range of mineral assets internationally. Previously, he was Executive Director of HSBC’s investment banking arm in Australia and was based in Beijing, China for 10 years covering various roles including Chairman of British Chamber of Commerce. Paul has Extensive experience in fundraising for mining projects, raising over US$ 300 million from various stakeholders.

Paul is an advisor for the Sustainable Resources strategy.

Martin Botha

Martin Botha joined ARCH as a senior advisor in 2020. Martin has a background of 30+ years experience as an engineer in international investment banking. He was a founding director in Standard Bank London's international operations. Martin has Experience in establishing and leading global natural resources trading and financing franchises across Commonwealth of Independent States, Turkey and the Middle East. Currently non-executive Chairman of Sberbank CIB and non-executive director of Zeta Resources.

Martin is an advisor for the Sustainable Resources strategy.

Nick Rouse

Nick Rouse joined ARCH as an Investment Advisory Committee member in 2018. He has a deep knowledge of African financing, having served 33-years at Barclays where he held number of senior positions which included being Head of Credit Risk for Africa and the Middle East. Most recently, he served as CEO of Frontier Markets Fund Managers and has chaired the Debt Investment Committee at CDC Group. He is senior Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Risk and Audit Committee at FCMB Bank UK.

Nick is an advisor for the Cold Chain Solutions East Africa, African Renewable Power and Credit strategies.

Obinna Onyeagoro

Obinna Onyeagoro joined ARCH as an Investment Advisory Committee Member in 2018. Obi was most recently Head of Standard Chartered’s EMEA Financial Sponsors Group. He has worked on energy projects across Europe, which included both thermal/gas-fired, solar and hydro. Obi previously worked with Deutsche Bank’s RREEF Infrastructure Investment team, and in the Deutsche Bank Energy Advisory Group. Obi has an MBA and a Masters in Policy from Harvard University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering.

The Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP

Andrew Mitchell joined ARCH as a senior advisor in 2019. He has a wide-ranging background in banking, finance and business strategy and acts as senior strategy advisor to a number of global organisations. He is the current Member of Parliament for Sutton Coldfield and was formerly Chief Whip. In addition, he holds a number of academic positions. Andrew has a particular interest in the future of Africa and is involved at board level and in ambassador roles with a number of global charities. He holds an MA in History from Jesus College, Cambridge.
